Riyadh: Israel's Jewish Nation State law, a genocide plan against Palestinians

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) JEDDAH, Dec 5 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia on Wednesday stressed that the basic law of portraying "Israel as the Nation State of the Jewish People" is a new genocide plan against Palestinians and a flagrant challenge of the will of the international community.

This came in Saudi Arabia's speech delivered by its permanent representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Zuhair Al-Edrisi during a meeting of the OIC permanent representatives held in Jeddah.

The meeting was held upon the request of Riyadh to discuss the basic law, described by the Kingdom, as illegitimate, void and racist.

Al-Edrisi said that the law represents a racist discrimination against the Palestinians who are the original owners of the land.

The bill also prevents the Palestinians from their rights established in the international laws, he added, noting that the plan is a model of terrorism and racism.

The law is a new aggression against the Palestinian people and a prolonged colonial legacy of the Israeli occupation authority, he made clear.

Upon its historic responsibilities and pioneering role under the leadership of King Salman, Saudi Arabia has denounced the approval of this law as it contradicts the principals of the international law, the international legitimacy and human rights, he pointed out.

He reiterated that Palestine remains the central cause for both Arab and Muslim nations, stressing the necessity of abiding to peace as a strategic choice.

Al-Edrisi also called for finding a resolution to the Arab-Israeli conflict in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative launched in 2002 upon Saudi Arabia's suggestion, he added.

The initiative called for establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Conditions facing the Palestinian people amid a racial discrimination committed by Israel require concerted efforts by all to confront these provocative acts, he affirmed.

These conditions also need the international community's role to deal with these policies and provide required protection to the Palestinians.

He underlined the need of working seriously to implement all international resolutions calling for ending the Israeli occupation and withdrawing from all the occupied Palestinian territories. (end) nsa.aah.hm
