Algeria raises concerns over terrorism financing

(MENAFN) Algeria raised warnings over the difficulty of tackling the financial resources terrorist groups are enjoying.

The statement was made in Algiers by Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel during the second meeting of the West Africa Working Group of the Global Counterterrorism Forum.

The international community received an appeal from the Algerian minister to step up their efforts in shrinking the financial resources of the militants.

Messahel added that militants collected huge amounts of cash through trafficking drugs and arms while joining hands with trans-border organized crime gangs.
