Kuwait- 8th Katara Traditional Dhow Festival kicks off


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- The Eighth Katara Traditional Dhow Festival commenced Tuesday at Katara beach in Doha.
The five-day festival, inaugurated by Director General of the Katara Cultural Village Khaled Al-Sulaiti, features a rich variety of cultural events, maritime contests and traditional shows.
Eight countries in addition to Qatar are participating countries namely: Kuwait, Oman, Turkey, India, Greece, Italy, Zanzibar and Iran.
The Kuwaiti pavilion showcases a rich collection of maritime, sailing, shipbuilding and pearl diving tools as well as historic manuscripts about the ancestors' maritime crafts and trips. (end) nnd.ibi
