Qatar- Elite Academy features 12 participants

DOHA: Elite Academy, organised and hosted by QatarDebate Center (QD) a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), at the student centre in Education City, started yesterday and will continue until November 24.

The six-day event features 12 participants from Tunisia, Kuwait, Oman, France, Sudan, and Qatar. During the two previous stages of Elite academy, the participants were evaluated according to different criteria to be promoted to stage 3, which started yesterday as part of the QD centre's efforts to provide practical training for youth by developing their skills in training, coaching, and organising.

In addition, Elite Academy members will contribute in Doha Forum: Youth Edition, which is one of the most important events in QD's 2018 calendar, as it focuses on the importance of dialogue in addressing contemporary issues and current challenges, in which youth from various backgrounds and cultures will discuss currently — trending topics and issues from around the world.

Commenting on the 'Elite Academy 3, Abdulrahman Al Subaie, Head of Outreach Program — QatarDebate, said: Elite Academy is designed for two purposes. The first is to transform the participants from debater to debate instructor and develop their skills to be able to create training programmes, in addition, to sourcing and coordinating the knowledge content and formulating different issues.

He added the second purpose is to prepare the participants to be international judges in the 5th International Arabic Universities Debating Championship 2019.
