President Ghani arrives in Kandahar after Thursday attack
(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): President Ashraf Ghani on Tuesday arrived in southern Kandahar province at the head of high-level delegation, an official said.
Shah Hussain Mortazavi, deputy presidential spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the president would offer sympathy and condolences to the family of the former police chief Gen. Abdul Raziq.
He said President Ghani would also extend condolences to the people of Kandahar during his visit to the province.
On Thursday, Gen. Raziq was killed in an insider attack in the governor€™s house compound. The gun attack was carried out by one of the security guards of Kandahar governor, Zalmai Wesa.
However, strict security was put in place for the arrival of President Ghani.
