(MENAFN) On Saturday, The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), asked for intensive efforts to provide refugees with humanitarian needs, in Ethiopia's Gambella local state.

UNFPA Deputy Executive Director, Dereje Wordofa, and a team of UNFPA regional directors and country representatives, visited Ethiopia's Gambella regional state, which hosts over 423,000 refugees from neighboring nations, mostly the civil-war occurred South Sudan.

According to UNFPA figures, approximately 64 percent of the refugees in camps across Gambella are in age under than 18 and about 88 percent are affirmed to be women and children.
