Tunisia's Ennahda committed to keep close relations with president
(MENAFN) The Tunisian Ennahda movement affirmed its dedication to maintain its strong ties with President Beji Caid Essebsi.
It comes after the president blasted the movement for calling on Youssef Chahed to preserve his position as prime minister.
The president warned that Tunisia was "taking a gamble" through terminating close relations with Ennahda.
Ennahda also hailed Essebsi for assuring that the presidential and legislative elections are to be conducted by the end of 2019 "with a view to enhancing the democratic transition process and confidence in Tunisia."
