Tunisian forces nab 13 illegal immigrants
(MENAFN) Tunisian Maritime Guard has been able to capture an illegal immigration boat carrying 14 people which departed from Italy.
Houcem Jbabli, the general directorate spokesman of Tunisian Maritime Guard confirmed: "This (immigration) attempt failed Monday at dawn in Nabeul province in northeastern Tunisia."
Coast guard units nabbed 13 people, with a woman among them, meanwhile, the trafficker jumped into the water and fled.
Illegal immigration is often bounded from the northeast and central-east coast of Tunisia, towards the Italian coast, particularly the island of Lampedusa in southern Italy.
