Myanmar recaptures 10 escaped inmates

(MENAFN) The official Global New Light of Myanmar declared that about 10 inmates out of 41, whom escaped a prison in Hpa-an township, Myanmar's Kayin state, have been recaptured by the security forces.

The 41 prisoners have fled the jail after breaking four gates by a garbage truck they stole on Sunday morning.

When the truck was about to depart the jail after gathering garbage piled by prisoners, an inmate dragged the driver down and struck him then drove the car out of jail along with other prisoners.

The security force and the police have coordinated all probable escape routes in order to chase after the inmates, who drove the truck along the Hpa-an-Hlaingbwe road, meanwhile search operations were carried out on the roads, and locals were urged to contact the authorities if any strange presence of people in the villages.
