(MENAFN) After the UAE occupation of an island in the Red Sea, it added insult to injury by prevented Prime Minister Ahmed Bin Daghr from leaving, Anadolu has reported the remarks of Yemeni government sources.
A senior Saudi delegation has apparently arrived on Socotra in an effort to sort out the crisis between the UAE and the internationally-recognized Yemeni government.
According to Al Jazeera, Yemeni sources say that the UAE occupied the port and airport on the island just one day after deploying more than 100 troops there.
The UAE is part of the Saudi-led coalition formed to battle against Houthi rebels who took over most of the north including the capital Sanaa in September 2014.
In October, the UN placed the Saudi alliance on a "blacklist" for killing and maiming children.
Along with its air campaign, the Saudi-led coalition has imposed periodic blockades on Yemen's ports, leading the UN to state that the Saudi-led aggression has cause the "world's worst humanitarian crisis."
