Indonesia, Myanmar to increase bilateral trade to USD1b


(MENAFN) Sources reported that Indonesia and Myanmar agreed to increase the bilateral trade between their countries to USD1 billion by the year 2016, Xinhua reported.

In the year 2012, Indonesia-Myanmar two-way trade reached USD465 million, increasing 7.98 percent from USD430.7 million registered in the same period of 2011.

The cooperation includes many sectors, such as agriculture, energy, technology, capacity building partnerships, investment and bilateral trade for both countries' mutual benefit.

"Both sides pledged cooperation and regional and international level as well as reiterated commitment to reaching the USD1 billion goal in trade relations," said a statement released after the meeting.
