Saudi- Dhahran school offers students new programs

(MENAFN- Arab News) Imam Saud Al-Khabeer High School in Dhahran welcomed its teachers and students and introduced its students to two programs during the first two days of school.

Principal Abdulrahaman Hasan Alshehri said the two programs will provide clear information about the high school system Mogarart or curriculums program that enable students to finish high school in less than three years.

He added: 'We actually provided these two programs for fresh students and regular students. The first year students will undergo an orientation which will enable them to be informed about the program including the type of courses they will learn how to calculate the GPA and the plans for the future. This will help students to decide which system is suitable for them.'

He stressed that after the lectures and workshops regarding the program the students will be assisted with registration in their preferred courses and be given a tour of the school to see for themselves the classrooms labs and meet the supervisors.

The other program is designed to help students in the second and third year of study. 'As they have already studied for a year and are aware of the system the students can go directly to their supervisor to consult him about the progress of their study which plan to choose and in case they have failed a course what to do next. They can also ask about which courses would be beneficial for them' Alshehri said.

He said that the students had had a chance to meet the principal deputies supervisors and teachers who introduced the courses to them. The students also had a chance to ask questions about the program or the school. New teachers were welcomed and at the end of the meeting the students received their books for the session.

Alshehri was very pleased with the system and said that such meetings are important especially for new students so that they know exactly what to expect and how to prepare themselves for the new courses.

He added: 'This is an excellent system as it will encourage students to become independent learners and researchers.'
