Iran to privatize 28 power plants
(MENAFN) The Iranian government plans to privatize 28 power plants by the end of the current year, with an estimated value of USD11.4 billion, reported Tehran Times.
The administrator for the electricity industry's privatization, Bahman Allah-Moradi, said that since 2008, the country has privatized 17 of its 45 power plants.
He added that 18 of the plants have seen their prices set and will be offered in the form of shares or assets, whereas the remaining 10 plants are being evaluated, with their prices to be announced by the end of the summer.
It is worth noting that between 2005 and 2010, USD63 billion worth of Iranian state assets have been privatized, according to the head of the Privatization Organization of Iran.
