DOHA: Qatar has the second largest foreign direct investment in Tunisia, accounting for 16% of the country's available investments, QNA reported.

France ranked first in terms of classification of foreign direct investments by country, by about 215 million dinars, representing 23 percent of total foreign direct investment excluding energy, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Investment of Tunisia.

Italy came third, with 12.6 percent, followed by Germany and the United Kingdom, which maintain a distinct position in Tunisian co-operation because of their presence within the Tunisian-European partnership. The foreign direct investments, excluding energy, grew by 29.2 percent during the first trimester of 2018, compared to the same period last year, the Ministry's statement show. The investments amounted to about 547m dinars (the dollar equivalent to 2.64 Tunisian dinars), which will enable the creation of more than 3000 jobs.
