Mexico: 3 policemen die amid operation to tackle oil thefts
(MENAFN) Authorities declared that gunmen have shot three policemen dead in a region of eastern Mexico which is filled with oil pipelines robbery crimes.
Police in the municipality of Tezonapa in Veracruz state confirmed that the local officers were gunned down as they were on board a patrol vehicle.
They were patrolling an area, where the authorities launched a mission to tackle "huachicoleros," or thieves who abducted fuel by drilling into pipelines owned by state oil company Pemex.
