Abhishek Kapoor takes legal action against Sara for signing 'Simmba'

In what has come as a rude shock to Sara Ali Khan, the director of her debut film 'Kedarnath' has taken legal action against her.

Abhishek Kapoor has alleged that the budding actress has committed a breach of contract by signing another film before completing 'Kedarnath'.

Sara went on board for Ranveer Singh's 'Simmba' after 'Kedarnath' got stuck due to rift between its makers.

As per a media report, Abhishek's production company Guy In The Sky Pictures has sent a legal notice to Sara.

In his complaint, Abhishek has stated that Sara had earlier agreed to be available for 'Kedarnath' shoot. However, when she was informed that the shooting would continue through May till July, she refused to turn up saying she has given her dates to 'Simmba'.


Abhishek has reportedly demanded Rs. 5 crore compensation

Abhishek reportedly wants Rs. 5 crore as compensation from Sara for the alleged breach of contract. His plea was heard by a vacation bench of Justice S J Kathawalla who posted the matter for hearing to Friday.

Backstory


After Abhishek parted ways with Prernaa Arora's KriArj Entertainment, the shooting of 'Kedarnath' got stalled for months and there were reports that the film might get shelved.

It was then that Karan Johar roped in Sara for 'Simmba' which is being directed by Rohit Shetty.

However, producer Ronnie Screwvala's intervention brought 'Kedarnath' back on track.

It has now be released on November 30.
