Pakistan- SC moved for compensation of tribal people for their damaged houses in Fata


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: Two petitioners from tribal areas on Wednesday filed two petitions at the Supreme Court for compensation of damaged houses and businesses during militancy.

Though jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and the Peshawar High Court has not been extended but the tribal people have started taking their issues to courts.

Former deputy inspector general of police Rahmat Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader from North Waziristan Agency Javed Iqbal filed petitions. The petitioners said that thousands of houses were destroyed and people lost their businesses in tribal areas.

They adopted the federal government has approved Rs45 billion in Public Sector Development Program for financial year 2017-18 of which only Rs12 billion could be released.

They urged the SC to take suo-moto notice under Article 183 and ordered the government to compensate all those whose houses were damaged and properties destroyed.
