Britain records drop in annual inflation to 2.4 percent

(MENAFN) The Office of National Statistics (ONS) has revealed the UK to have recorded 2.4 percent in its annual inflation in April, compared to 2.5 percent reported in March.

Britain's consumer price index (CPI) 12-month rate has recorded its lowest of 2.4 percent ever since March of last year.

ONS' head of inflation Mike Hardie stated that "inflation continued to slow in April, with airfares making the biggest downward contribution, due to the timing of Easter. This was partially offset by the rise in petrol prices."
