Pakistan- Security forces foil sabotage bid in Miran Shah

(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) MIRAN SHAH: The security forces on Monday claimed to have foiled a sabotage bid in Miranshah where they defused an improvised explosive device planted on roadside to target security forces.

The security officials said that militants planted the IED on Miran Shah Bypass Road to target passing by convoys of security forces.

On a tip off, a bomb disposal unit rushed to the site and defused the explosives. The forces also launched a search operation in the area but so far no arrest could be made.

Last week locals in in nearby Mir Ali Town of North Waziristan staged a sit-in for five days against the rise of target killing incidents which forced the security forces to increase patrol in the area.
