Ryanair reports record high profits, but expresses disease

(MENAFN) Ryanair has reported record annual results, although it had to cancel thousands of flights in September due to problems with its pilots.

According to the Irish airline, profits after tax increased 10 percent to 1.45 billion eruos, despite the wave of bad publicity, but warned that higher costs would make the year ahead more difficult.

The airline also said that passenger numbers had increased by 9 percent to 130.3 million in the 12 months to the end of March.

Ryanair also said it expected to carry 7 percent more passengers in the coming year, but said costs would rise by 9 percent, including staff costs and the oil price, but fares are expected to remain unchanged.
