Oman- Indian School Nizwa celebrates Earth Day with events


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Earth day was initiated as a wakeup call to all of us who take our mother nature for granted.

To create awareness among the children about the present condition of the Earth is as necessary as their daily lessons. Indian School Nizwa celebrated Earth Day on Sunday, following a very eco-friendly path.

The morning assembly was conducted by the senior most batch of Indian School Nizwa, the class 12 batch. Various events were included in the assembly. The chief guest for the day was Amal al Shukri, director of private schools Dakhliyah region, delivered a speech addressing the children and school. The need to respect and take care of our environment was stressed upon. The principal of Indian School Nizwa, John Dominic, gave a thought-provoking speech on the importance of saving Mother Nature. He inculcated into the children a vivid perspective of how to perceive the essence of Earth Day. The Indian School Nizwa Nature Club logo and the newly prepared garden in the school premises were inaugurated by Amal.

Papers for recycling were brought in huge bundles by the students. Muscat Daily sent their team to be a part of the paper recycling campaign. They collaborated along with the children in collecting and arranging the reusable papers. Exhibition of the objects made from 'Best Out of Waste' by the students was held in the MPH. The head boy of Indian School Nizwa, Rajat Krishnan, delivered the vote of thanks.
