Qatar- BPS unveils new logo to mark 15th year

DOHA: Birla Public School launched a new logo to mark its 15th year on April 22, in the presence of Chief Guest Yosuf Ahmad, Professor of Art Qatar University, writer, art advisor, artist and an educationalist, and Chairman Lukose Chacko, Vice Chairman Gope Shahani and Directors Dr Mohan Thomas, C V Rappai and Thangam Thomas.

The complete program was telecast live in all classrooms of its three campuses and to the world through the school's website.

After the anthems and prayer, the ghee lamp was lighted to mark the auspicious beginning of the celebrations planned for the complete academic year, 2018-19. A P Sharma, Principal, welcomed the gathering followed by the simultaneous unveiling of three images of the logo, one, behind the curtains on the stage, conceived and created by art teacher Sreejith.

The second image, a three dimensional one on the right side of the stage, was brought alive by the Head of the Art Department Regint and the third, a digital imprint on screen, created by teacher, Davies.

This was followed by a Flag Handover ceremony signifying the sharing of responsibilities and pride in past and future achievements. This year Birla Public School received a unique opportunity, 35 art students exhibited their talents. An iconic figure of Kathakali, 6 feet by 4 feet encompassing 54 different canvases, displaying features of ancient Indian culture was brought to life in 48 hours of concentrated work.

Apart from these student artists, behind this spectacular creation, many silent but diligent great souls had persevered.
