4 ALP personnel among 10 killed in Ghazni battle


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): Four Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel and six Taliban insurgents have been killed during a clash in the Jaghatu district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Tuesday.

Mohammad Arif Noori, the governor€™s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed the security forces€™ check-point in the Qiaq locality of the district late Monday night.

He added four APL members and six attackers were killed and three security men and two rebels wounded in the overnight clash that lasted till morning. Security forces managed to beat back the insurgents.

The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident but their spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed eight policemen were killed and five others wounded in different parts of Ghazni City.
