Iraq announces killing 36 terrorists in raid on IS in Syria


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) BAGHDAD, April 22 (KUNA) -- At least 36 terrorists were killed in a raid carried out by Iraqi planes on strongholds of the so-called Islamic state IS in Syria a few days ago, Iraq's media center said Sunday. A spokesman for the center, Brigadier General Yahya Rasul, confirmed the death of 36 terrorists from the organization, as the strikes achieved their goals in targeting the dens of terrorist elements that pose a threat to Iraq.
The Iraqi F-16 aircraft carried out air strikes on Syrian territory on April 19. (end) ahh.ss
