Saudi fires teachers 'affected' by Muslim Brotherhood

(MENAFN) Saudi teachers and education board member have been discharged by authorities for being affected by the Muslim Brotherhood ideology, the New Khaleej reported yesterday.

Security and intelligence agencies worked together to pinpoint those targeted, the spokesman for the Ministry of Education Mubarak Al-Ossaimi said as reported by MEM.

This comes as part of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman's orders to fight "extremist ideologies" in the Kingdom, Al-Ossaimi continued.

The Muslim Brotherhood was declared a terrorist organization in Saudi Arabia in May 2014.
The way Saudi Arabia is run has seen major changes under 32-year-old Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who rocketed to the heights of power from near obscurity after his father became king following the death of King Abdullah in 2015 and is pushing big economic and social reforms.
