Pakistan- KP government approves promotion of over 55,000 teachers


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government Wednesday approved promotion of 55,092 Gade-14 and above teachers under time-scale formula.

According to an official statement, this formula will be applicable to teachers having eight years of service in the current grade. The promotion was approved at a meeting of the provincial cabinet which met in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak.

The cabinet also approved school-based recruitment of teachers and reconstitution of the Textbook Board, amending rules to broaden its scope. The cabinet also approved the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Elementary and Secondary Education Bill 2018. A grant of Rs140 million for Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, was also approved.

It also approved KP Education Monitoring Authority Bill 2018. With the passage of the said bill, the status of Independent Monitoring Unit will be upgraded to a full-fledged authority. The Project Management Reforms Unit informed the cabinet that so far 45,000 complaints had been received of which 39,000 have been settled. The cabinet was informed that 4,000 complaints pertained to cleanliness out of a total of 16,000 complaints received during the last four months.

The cabinet also approved a summary bringing uniformity in salaries and perks of the chairmen and members of the authorities in regulatory bodies and commissions.
