South Korean prosecutors request arrest warrant for former president


(MENAFN) Former South Korean President Lee Myung-bak has been hit with an arrest warrant appeal from prosecutors following the appearance of corruption accusations.

A court was declared by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office to have received an appeal to approve an arrest warrant against the former president.

Seoul Central District Court is to reportedly reach a resolution on the warrant as soon as Wednesday night.

Lee has allegedly accepted bribes from his intelligence agency and business groups and is accused of exploiting an auto parts manufacturer for generating illicit slush financing.
