Are extended warranties really worth that extra pocket pinch?

In today's age, it's tough to purchase technology without being offered third-party extended warranties. But really, they just play on your insecurity.
Mostly, these pricey third-party plans run parallel to the warranty offered by the manufacturer of the product you're purchasing; so, in essence, you're being duped into paying twice for the same protection.
Research your device's manufacturer warranty before opting for third-party ones.
