Important issues include: the test may not be reliable because some people normally have the inability to cross their eyes, officers can produce an adverse outcome if they fail to let a person wear their glasses during the test, and officers can also produce an adverse outcome if they bring the stimulus in closer than 2 inches from the bridge of the nose.

After attending Hernando High School, Megan began her college education at the University of Mississippi. After receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree, she worked as a legal assistant for a family law attorney before she decided to return to school and pursue her law degree.

Megan returned to the University of Mississippi in 2009 in order to continue her studies at the School of Law. In addition to her studies, she also worked for several general practice attorneys, and she gained criminal law experience as a Limited Practice Student Attorney with the Office of the District Attorney for the First Judicial District of Mississippi.

Upon graduation, Megan began practicing with a firm in Memphis as a licensed Mississippi attorney. She became licensed to practice in Tennessee in 2014. Megan remained with the Memphis firm until February 2016 when she joined the firm of George B. Ready in Hernando.
