A 35-year-old Indonesian woman was jailed for a month by a Singapore court last week after pleading guilty to stealing S$5,000 (US$3,802) worth of red-packet money from her 90-year-old employer last year.
The defendant named Aprianah was arrested on February 6 at Changi Airport when she re-entered the country, Lianhe Wanbao (Singapore) reported.

The Indonesian woman had worked as a domestic for an employer surnamed Soh for 21 months before she disappeared from the apartment in Boon Lay Drive on a rest day in February 2017.
The court learned that on February 26, 2017, Soh had left a key in the lock of a drawer where he stored red packets given by his daughters, sons-in-laws and other relatives that were worth around S$5,000 (US$3,802). The old man planned to deposit the cash when the bank opened after the Chinese New Year holiday.
The maid said she was fed up with the old man's complaints and decided to help herself to the stack of money in his drawer, before packing her belongings and heading to the HarbourFront Ferry Terminal to leave for Batam in Indonesia.
Aprianah said she used part of the stolen cash to buy a flight back to her home, where she used the rest of the money to settle her house debts.
The court jailed the maid for one month, saying she took advantage of a vulnerable victim and had failed to give any compensation since the day the theft was reported.
