Pakistan- Resolution in KP Assembly submitted against Asif Zardari for defending Rao Anwar


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) PESHAWAR, 19 February: A PTI legislator on Monday submitted a resolution in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly against former president and co-chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari for defending former SSP Malir, Rao Anwar who is alleged of killing Naqeebullah Mehsud in a fake police encounter.

The resolution has been filed by Fazal-e-Elahi Khan. The mover has condemned the former president for calling Rao Anwar a 'brave child'.

The resolution noted that the PPP co-chairman has hurt the sentiments of millions of Pakhtuns by defending Rao Anwar and she should apologize from the people of Fata and KP on his remarks.

The PTI MPA has mentioned that the Inspector General of Sindh police had also confirmed in his report submitted in the Supreme Court that Rao Anwar was involved in extrajudicial killings of Pakhtuns.

A similar resolution against the PPP co-chairman is also filed in the Sindh Assembly by PTI MPA Khurram Sher Zaman.

Asif Zardari, in a TV interview on Thursday night, defended Rao Anwar and called him a 'brave child'.

It is also worth mentioning here that PPP's spokesman Farhatullah Babar released a statement which stated that Asif Ali Zardari had regretted his remarks.
