QRCS plans $2mn projects in Iraq


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has submitted a plan for the implementation of humanitarian projects in Iraq worth $2mn in 2018. QRCS said these projects will be funded through co-ordination with the stakeholders to mobilise community support at the level of institutions and individuals. In a statement issued yesterday, QRCS said its humanitarian support for Iraq, which was announced during the Kuwait International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq (KICRI), hosted by Kuwait, would involve reconstruction efforts and building areas affected by the destruction over the years. QRCS said it has already implemented dozens of humanitarian projects for the benefit of those affected by the events in Iraq, ranging from shelter, healthcare, water, sanitation, food and non-food assistance. QRCS said the total value of these projects over the past three years was more than $13mn.
