Qatar- Emir's directives to transform six streets

Within the framework of the directives of Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the importance of advancing the economic development of the country, which is one of the most important pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment announced intention to transform six residential streets to commercial streets in different parts of the state with a total length of 17 kilometers.

The streets are located in six municipalities and the streets are Al Khisa Street in Al Daayen Municipality, Al Kharaitiyat in Umm Salal Municipality, Rawdat Hotan in Rayyan Municipality, Jassim bin Hamad Street in Madinat Khalifa in Doha Municipality, Main Mesaieed in Al Wakrah Municipality and another street in Al Shihania.

The Ministry said in a statement today, that the transformation of these streets will provide a range of commercial, services that meet the needs of the residents of the regions. This decision will result in the provision of 200,000 square metres commercial properties and 400,000 square metres residential / administrative properties with different architectural styles.

The statement added that turning these streets into commercial activity will provide more investment opportunities for the private sector and citizens to participate effectively as a key partner to the governments in achieving the desired development in various fields. This much awaited step aims to encourage the business and entrepreneurs in the country.

It will create more commercial space for private sector business and create more opportunities for the private sector. This step also provide for further growth of different municipalities and areas in the country.
