(MENAFN)UAE Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Tuesday, the implementation of a new accident management system, to clear accident sites on Dubai roads within 12 minutes.
A specialized traffic management project was planned by the RTA in cooperation with Dubai police, to cut down accident related delays by 25 per cent on Dubai highways.
Accidents in Dubai cost the emirate's economy Dh1.8 billion annually, and road mishaps are the reason behind more than 50 per cent of the traffic jams.
Including those caused by accidents, Dubai loses Dh3.5 billion annually in traffic overcrowding.
