By Ali Mustafayev – Trend:

Kazakhstan plans to increase the volume of grain exports by end of 2017.

"We plan to export about 9.1 million tons of grain and flour in 2017. This is 400,000 tons more than in the previous year," said Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazkahstan Nurzhan Altayev at a meeting of the parliament, Kazakh media outlets reported.

In December, Kazakhstan plans to export 1.3 million tons of grain and flour. The country intends to use 16,500 freight cars (11,940 grain trucks and 4,776 covered wagons).

"Currently, tariffs of Kazakhstan railways are fixed at the level of 9,000 tenge per wagon per day. We will subsidize grain transportation within Kazakhstan to increase the competitiveness of export of Kazakh grain from January 1. Nearly 9.7 billion tenge is allocated for this purpose," the deputy minister said.
