UAE- Saif bin Zayed: Nation's martyrs will remain in our hearts

ABU DHABI, 29th November, 2017 (WAM) -- H.H. Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has affirmed that the nation's martyrs are symbols of loyalty and giving, who will always be remembered with pride and honour and will remain in the people's hearts and souls.

In a speech marking Commemoration Day, Sheikh Saif said that it represents the highest values of patriotism and allegiance and the loyalty of those who have sacrificed greatly for their precious nation, and is a day to honour the courage and bravery of the country's martyrs.

"President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their brothers, Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, have provided the necessary support to the families and children of the nation's martyrs and have given them care and attention, in appreciation of their sacrifice to the citizens of the nation and for embodying the meaning of cohesion between the people of the UAE and its leadership," he added.

Sheikh Saif emphasised that the UAE is proud of its righteous martyrs, its sons who have written a national epic of pride and dignity and have carved their names in people's hearts. They have carried the banner to defend their nation, and have sacrificed their lives, supported justice, and upheld the rights of the oppressed.

He went on to say that the sacrifice of the nation's martyrs will remain a source of pride, appreciation and admiration that will inspire future generations, and will show them the meaning of manhood and sacrifice and the greatness of defending their land, as the achievements of their country have been made possible by those who have given their pure and noble lives in the field of honour, in the name of truth, duty and humanity, so that the UAE's flag can fly high as a symbol of power.
