Kuwait- Stick to traffic rules, officers cautioned


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28: Director General of Monitoring and Inspection Department at Ministry of Interior Major General Mohammad Al-Enezi sent a letter to all departments of the ministry in which he stressed the need for military and security officers to be committed to following traffic regulations including using seat belts, not using mobile phones while driving and refraining from parking on the sidewalks.

He insisted that securitymen have to present themselves as good model for road users in terms of respecting the laws. Major General Al-Enezi indicated that inspectors of the department will start carrying out their tasks in terms of identifying violations and taking relevant actions against the violators.

Meanwhile, according to an official statistics, Monitoring and Inspection Department received a total of 790 complaints against military officers and securitymen this year. These complaints varied from violation of the military laws and nonperformance of their military duties. They also included the use of social media without obtaining necessary permission, as well as complaints from citizens who accused some securitymen of abusing the power granted to them.
