US: PLO office to remain open with certain limitations
(MENAFN) The United States has warned last week to close down the Palestinian Liberation Organization's (PLO) office in Washington; however it later announced that it will be grant permission for it to stay open.
Nonetheless, the office was offered to comply with certain restrictions in order for it to remain open, the limitations focus on the activities of the PLO to be "related to achieving a lasting, comprehensive peace between the Israelis and Palestinians," as confirmed by a State Department spokesperson.
According to the spokesperson, "given the lapse last week of a waiver of statutory restrictions on PLO activity in the United States, we have advised the PLO Office to limit its activities to those related to achieving a lasting, comprehensive peace between the Israelis and Palestinians."
