Geneva, 01 Muharram,1439 AH, 21 September,2017 , SPA -- King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid highlighted its efforts, projects and works in the service of afflicted people all over the world in an exhibition at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva yesterday.
The three-day exhibition was opened by the permanent representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, who praised in his speech the efforts of the Center and its achievements during its short life distinguished by continuous and diligent works for humanity under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince.
The General Supervisor's Advisor, Dr. Samer Al-Jatili, delivered a speech welcoming the attendees and reviewing some of the Center's services for afflicted people in the world, especially in Yemen. He also explained the great humanitarian efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the Center in Yemen to alleviate the sufferings of children in the world, especially in Yemen suffering from difficult humanitarian conditions because of the lack of food and medicine and their inhuman use as tools in conflicts.
Dr. Al-Jatili said, "The center has implemented 101 projects for children in the areas of food, health, nutrition, education and social and health rehabilitation at a cost of $ 260 million''.
The exhibition included films, publications, and various reports on relief and humanitarian works carried out by the Center since its inception and achievements in providing services to the affected in 38 countries with 231projects through 108 partners.
The exhibition was attended by Yemeni Minister of Human Rights Dr. Mohammad Mohsen Askar, a number of officials, representatives of diplomatic missions at the United Nations and those interested in relief and humanitarian affairs.
