Egypt condemns Iraqi embassy attack in Kabul

(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Egypt condemned on Monday the terror attack on the Iraqi embassy in the Afghan capital city, Kabul, according to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement asserted that Egypt stands with the Iraqi government and people in the fight against terrorism, pointing out that the attack comes following the Iraqi victory against the Islamic State (IS) in Mosul, saying that the attack is a hopeless attempt from the Islamic State that will not affect the spirit of the Iraqi people and its hope for security and stability.

Moreover, the IS announced on Monday its responsibility for the attack, which has started with a suicide bombing before other militants attacked the main gate.
