Kuwait rout Macau 8-0


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, April 23: Kuwait's national hockey team defeated Macau national team with a score of 8-0 in the opening match of division 1 in the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia, which kicked off on Saturday, April 22 at the Kuwait Ice Skating Rink.

The Kuwaiti team, led by captain and best player of the match Jassem Al-Awadhi, scored three goals during the first quarter of the match, followed by two goals in the second quarter, and three more in the third quarter.

In the second match of the championship, India defeated Oman by 3 goals to 2. The last two goals of India were scored in the third quarter of the game.

The four-day championship is organized under the patronage of the Minister of Commerce and Industry and State Minister for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan. It is due to end on April 25, 2017.
