Kuwaiti doctors treat injured, ill Syrians in Turkish border town


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, Jan 19 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Society for Relief announced on Saturday conducting 20 surgical operations and examining 455 injured and patients from among the Syrian refugees at a hospital in the town of Reyhane located in the border province of Hatay.

Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Kanderi, the head of the society's medical and relief mission, told KUNA that the Kuwaiti team involved in treating the refugees group 15 doctors of various specialties.

The Kuwaiti medical team, whose mission in the border region proceeds till Monday, plans to perform up to 60 medical operations and treat 1,000 refugees, Dr. Al-Kanderi said.

Reyhane is a border town inhabited by some 90,000 Turks. The populace has drastically grown with incoming of 130,000 Syrian refugees. (end) rs.rk
