Unemployment rate in Turkey reaches its highest


(MENAFN) Turkey's unemployment rate in Oct was the highest in more than 5 and half years, as stated the statistical authorities.

Accordingly, unemployment rate increased to 11.8 percent in the cited month, a 0.4 point increase from Sep and a 1.3-point leap from its level a year earlier.

In addition, youth unemployment also increased as 500.000 more people aged 15 and above were without a job last year compared to the previous period.

Recently, it is predicted that growth in the country would be 2.5 percent this year, with economic contractions in the first half followed be a recovery.
