PM holds talks with Omani Deputy Premier in Muscat
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani is welcomed by Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Council of Ministers Affairs Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said at Sultani Airport in Muscat.
Muscat: Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani yesterday held talks with Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Council of Ministers Affairs Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said at the Premiership headquarters in Omani capital.
Talks dealt with fraternal relations between the two countries, ways of developing them in various fields, especially in economy and investment, and the latest regional and international developments. The Premier’s delegation and Omani officials were present.
The Premier arrived in Muscat in the morning on a day’s official visit.
He was welcomed at Sultani Airport by Al Said; Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, other ministers, Qatari Ambassador to Oman Ali bin Fahd Al Hajri, heads of diplomatic missions in Oman, senior civilian and military officials and Qatari Embassy staff.
The Premier was also accorded an official reception.
Qatar and Oman signed several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) at Al Bustan Palace Hotel.
Minister of Economy and Commerce H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani and Omani Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah signed an MoU in the field of culture.
Minister of Municipality and Environment H E Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi and Omani Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs Mohammed bin Salim Al Toobi signed an MoU in the field of environment and its preservation.
Oman’s Public Authority for Mining (PAM) and Qatar Primary Materials Company (QPMC) also signed an MoU on the two queries in Khatmat Milaha in the Wilayat of Shinas to provide support to get the company approvals and permits to carry out its business in the quarries. Engineer Hilal bin Mohammed Al Busaidi, CEO, PAM, and Engineer Essa Al Hammadi, CEO, QPMC, signed deal. An MoU was signed between the Port of Sohar and QPMC to customise the quay and storage areas for the company in the Port of Sohar. It was signed by Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, Secretary-General, Supreme Council for Planning, and Al Hammadi.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications and QPMC also signed an agreement to construct a pier in the Wilayat of Shinas to export rocks to Qatar.
Said bin Hamdoon Al Harthy, Undersecretary, Omani Ministry of Transport and Communications for Ports and Maritime Affairs, and Al Hammadi signed the agreement.
An agreement was signed by the Ministry of Tourism and Qatari Diar to receive land for Ras Al Had project for investment. It was signed by Engineer Khalid Al Sayed, Group CEO, Qatari Diar Real Estate Company; and Sheikh Hilal bin Galib Al Hanie, Omani Adviser for Green Tourism.
Both sides also signed benefit contracts granting Al Meera Consumer Company to operate in five governorates in the sultanate. These were signed by Dr. Saif Saeed Al Suwaidi, Vice-Chairman, Al Meera Consumer Company, and Khamis bin Ali Al Kalbani, Director-General of the Lands Department in Oman.
