Microsoft hosts Empower Summit to bring latest technologies to Oman

Microsoft hosted the 'Empower Summit' on Monday as part of its ongoing commitment to enhance and develop Oman's information and communications
technology (ICT) sector.
The summit introduced the latest technologies that will help businesses in Oman. A host of speakers from the region presented a broad portfolio of services and products such as Windows 10 Windows Devices and Apps Office 2016 and Microsoft Azure in addition to a wide range of advanced solutions focusing on analytics productivity and Internet of Things (IoT). 'Hosting such an event comes in line with Microsoft's mission to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more' said Sherif Tawfik country general manager Microsoft Oman. 'Empower comes to reflect Microsoft Oman's commitment to realising the goals of its national plan that comes in line with Oman's National Vision 2020' Tawfik added. He explained that Microsoft's ambitions are 'Create more personal computing 'Reinvent productivity and business processes' and 'Build intelligent cloud'. Emad Sallam client solutions marketing manager Dell Middle East Commercial said 'As Microsoft's first partner to ship Windows 10 on our new PCs last summer we believe that Windows 10 brings the best of mobility in a more secure and easier-to-implement package giving businesses a good reason to take a fresh look at mobility.' Mohammed Hilili Lenovo general manager for Gulf and Saudi Arabia said 'We are delighted to continue our journey with Microsoft by introducing our newest X1 family members at the event. Powered by Windows 10 the X1 portfolio is optimised with unique features and for greater performance better cloud access and class-leading security and durability to help businesses use technology as their secret weapon.' The event also featured live demonstrations of Windows 10 Windows Devices Office 2016 and IoT.
