Oman Air operates Boeing 737 on Muscat Duqm route

Oman Air in cooperation with the Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZAD) on Sunday operated the
Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the Muscat-Duqm route to provide additional seats for travellers.
A press release stated that the Boeing 737-800 aircraft will operate on Sundays and Thursdays while the flights on Mondays and Wednesdays will be on Embraer 175 on this sector. Officials from SEZAD Oman Air the Oman Airports Management Company (OAMC) and ROP attended the ceremony at Duqm airport.
SEZAD is the supervising entity of the operation on the Muscat-Duqm route. Flight WY3921 which landed at 9.30am at Duqm Airport provided additional capacity with 93 passengers and 53 passengers were on the return flight. Mumtaz al Balushi director of the Department of Administration and Services at SEZAD thanked Oman Air OAMC and ROP for a successful operation. 'This step will reflect positively on the investments in Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZD) and help people who travel between Muscat and Duqm.' He said that SEZAD support for this route is part of the government's plan to attract investments to SEZD and facilitate the movement of people. 'The operation of the Boeing aircraft on the Muscat-Duqm route keeps pace with growth in the number of passengers to Duqm including those working in SEZD residents investors and tourists' added Balushi.
