Oman- Abu Dhabi targets more visitors from Oman

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Hotels in Abu Dhabi hosted 30909 visitors from the sultanate during the first half of 2015 according to the Abu Dhabi tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi).
The authority has said that this was an increase of 15 per cent compared to the same period in 2014.
To boost tourist numbers from the sultanate TCA Abu Dhabi organised a road show in Muscat on Wednesday to highlight the city's unique offerings for the upcoming season.
Representatives of TCA Abu Dhabi met key players in Oman's travel and tourism industry to showcase the diversity of the emirate's destinations combining sea and water attractions modern entertainment desert spas and retreats heritage and cultural sites and charming oases.
The authority also showcased facilities available for the business tourism segment through services offered by the Abu Dhabi Convention Bureau (Abu Dhabi CB).
Sultan al Mansouri GCC country manager TCA Abu Dhabi said 'We are back to touring the major cities of the Arabian Gulf following the highly successful campaign held during Ramadan. This time we are providing even more attractive offers to encourage visitors from GCC to enjoy their time in Abu Dhabi and stay longer as the weather has started to cool down.'
Tourists from GCC are on the list of top 25 nationalities who frequently travel to Abu Dhabi a city which has succeeded in preserving its traditional character the authority has said.
Hotels in Abu Dhabi also received 62499 visitors from Saudi Arabia in the first half of 2015 a 28 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. Also 13306 visitors from Kuwait and 13156 from Qatar stayed in hotels in the city in the first half of this year.
TCA Abu Dhabi's next road show will be held in Kuwait City on August 30 followed by Doha on September 1 and Bahrain on September 2.
The road shows in Saudi Arabia will start with Riyadh on September 6 then move to Al Khobar on September 8 and end in Jeddah on September 9. 'The meetings will focus on promoting upcoming cultural and art activities in addition to offers extended by hotels and shopping centres' added Mansoori.
In November Abu Dhabi will host the Formula 1 race while Abu Dhabi Art will host one of the region's leading art events. Also the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival will wow visitors with its interactive platform focusing on original arts and traditions in the Al Wathba region amid sand dunes.
