35 Nigerian Policemen Missing After Boko Haram Attack


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Lagos August 24 (QNA) -Thirty-five Nigerian policemen are missing following an insurgent attack by extremist boko haram rebels in a northern Nigeria. A search-and-rescue effort has been launched after the third attack this month the Gwoza Training camp in Borno State according to a statement posted online by the Nigeria Police Force. Nigerian police spokesman Emmanuel Ojukwu said it is early to assume that the police officers had been taken hostage by the militants. "Some may have been killed but their bodies have not yet found while others may have ran to safety during the Islamist attack but have not yet reported their whereabouts" he added. (QNA)
