Saudi- Man gets 3 years jail 200 lashes in poisoning case

(MENAFN- Arab News) A saudi man in his thirties has been sentenced to three years in prison and 200 lashes which will be administered in four different locations for poisoning his colleague.

the sentence was handed down by jeddah's general court.

the man will be subject to lashing at his company the vegetable market a commercial center and the city's waterfront. he has also committed to memorizing ten chapters of the qur'an and reading scientific books.

the suspect was found guilty of poisoning a colleague at the company where he works according to eyewitness testimony following a work dispute.

the victim suffered nausea and skin rash after having ingesting insecticide which was put in his tea by the defendant.

the man filed a complaint to police after proving that the tea was poisoned after which the defendant was interrogated until he confessed to his crime.
