Deadly Israeli Strikes Hit Southern Lebanon Despite Ceasefire

(MENAFN) At least three people were killed on Wednesday in Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese state media, amid what officials describe as continued violations of the ceasefire agreement.

According to reports from the state-run National News Agency (NNA), two people were killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike on the town of Seddiqin in the Tyre district.

Civil defense teams also recovered the body of another victim in the nearby town of Tayr Debba.

Separately, an Israeli drone reportedly struck a vehicle at the western entrance of Deir El Zahrani earlier in the day, though casualty details were not immediately confirmed.

The NNA further reported multiple airstrikes targeting several towns, including Ansariyeh, Bnaafoul, Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, Tayr Debba, and Kfardounine in the Tyre district, as well as Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Kfar Rumman in the Nabatieh region.

Drone activity was also observed over Beirut and its southern suburbs, according to local accounts.

According to reports, the latest strikes come despite a ceasefire that took effect on April 17, which has been repeatedly strained by ongoing military operations.

Since March 2, Israeli operations in Lebanon have reportedly killed 3,666 people and injured 11,321 others, based on official Lebanese figures cited in local reporting.
